Okay, I know I've been slacking, but it IS my middle name after all...he he. I was poking around on American Blues News, another online news source I write for occasionally, and thought Clapton fans might enjoy reading about Eric's year in shrink-wrap. So, without further ado, I share with you: Eric Clapton 2011: A Year In Review by J Blake. Enjoy! <-----Click Here!

Not sure if anyone here uses Spotify, but if you don't, you should definitely check it out. They've recently updated the app to now include artist radio. I'm listening to a mix of music that they consider to be similar to Texas Blues Artist Jimmie Vaughan. And it's pretty good stuff.
More info in this article:
And if you want to learn more about Spotify, check this out:

I highly recommend it. I have playlists that I can share with anyone out there when you get setup. It's all free.

Google 'Texas Blues'....go ahead, just try it. The Texas Blues Roadhouse comes up #3, right under two Wikipedia pages. That means, we are the very first business/organization in the list! What this means to you is folks searching from all over the world will find us/you with one easy search. The Texas Blues Roadhouse is non-profit. It is user driven. It is a one-stop virtual introduction to anyone searching for 'Texas Blues Artists'...statewide and worldwide. In other words, you can't win if you don't enter. The more Texas Blues musicians create profiles, add photos, write blogs, and SHARE everywhere, facebook, twitter, etc. The more traffic coming through (hits) means the higher the search rankings will be, and people looking for us from across the globe will more easily find us. ***NOTE*** The chat feature is now located at the bottom right in the bar where it says ' 2 Online', (or however many) and you have to click there for it to pop up, similar to the old facebook.

Now listen here all fans of great Texas blues. Unfurl the banners, ready the champagne and get ready to celebrate the return to the recording studio of Anson Funderburgh on this exciting release which is also raising funds for HART, the Blues Foundation’s charity fund for blues musicians in need. This is a worthy cause and it is great to see Anson back on CD, so the only remaining question is whether it is a good CD. Delighted to say that, in my view, it certainly is!
After the sad death of Sam Myers, Anson Funderburgh took his band The Rockets off the road and his sabbatical has lasted some five years, apart from occasional sightings on the local Texas…

American Blues News<--- Click here to read my article on Rory Gallagher for American Blues News. He was a beautiful man and highly talented musician...passed away in 1995 at age 47 due to 'Too Much Alcohol' which was ironically the title of one of his biggest hits. Very sad...and a warning to you heavy drinkers. Stop pickling your liver. You only have one. Posted by Abby Owen on June 9, 2011 at 7:30am
I'm happy to announce that a new CD for charity is coming out in March. And it features the legendary guitar work of Dallas bluesman, Anson Funderburgh. To make things even a bit cooler, I was asked to sing on a couple songs on the CD. And I co-wrote the title track of the album entitled "Mill Block Blues" with my good friend James Goode.
You can find out more about the CD at our website here:
I'm really excited about this. I will let everyone know as we get closer to the CD release so that you can rush out and pickup a copy. Maybe one of you would be willing to write a review? I'm a little biased. LOL.
Anyways, happy happy days.

Hey everyone! I am a huge Doors fan, and I heard a few weeks back on a site like this that Ray Manzarek released a new album. I was skeptical about buying it, because it had more of a blues influence from Roy Rogers, but I am so happy I did. Honestly it is music to my ears (pun intended). And it came with a signed laminate, which was awesome. Has anyone else heard it?
