We are looking for suggestions for talent for the 2010 Bedford Blues & BBQ scheduled for Sept 4-5, 2010 do you guys have any favorites? A few locals and headliners would be helpful? What are your feelings about Taj Mahal and the phantom blues band or Robert Cray?

Local great Anson Funderburgh is always high on my list. Jimmie Vaughan would be nice. I'll keep thinking about it. This is great. Thanks for soliciting this feedback from the local community.
Taj Mahal and Robert Cray and Jimmie Vaughn would be GREAT!! I would like to see local blues women Cheryl Arena!! Andrea Dawson!! Miss Marcy! Jessica Munn and others!! ( there were no women last year) I am so HAPPY that Bedford is doing this again!! I really loved it and missed it when they stopped, and last year was a good one!!!
Long John Hunter, Michael Nemith, Junior Watson, John Mayall, Jeff Beck!
I agree with Monta! We female blues artists would love the opportunity to perform at the 2010 Bedford Blues & BBQ festival. Give me a shout at 214-703-6617 and we can discuss!! I'd love to see Beverly "Guitar" Watson on the bill too!
W.C. Clark is a national act who lives in Austin (almost local)
Rev. KM Williams and I have been performing Gospel/Blues Shows for the past couple of years.

Rev. Williams is a true American treasure and I am honored to be playing with him.

We will be in the studio later this month and will featured at a major Gospel Show this summer in Denton.

Rev. Williams is also performing at this years Chicago Blues Festival.

We would love to play this event together.

Jeff Stone

P.S. I agree with the suggestions of Andrea, Miss Marcy, Cheryl and any other of our great women of the blues here in the DFW area.
Let's start with a list of women who are my faves :
Marcia Ball
Tracey Conover
Ruthie Foster
LZ Love
Carolyn Wonderland

And now a few men :
Gary Clark Jr.
Ben Harper
Dave Hole
Hamilton Loomis
Van Wilks

And now some nationals :
Bonnie Raitt
Buddy Guy
Eric Clapton
Joe Cocker
Alvin Lee
BB King
Derek Trucks
Susan Tedeschi
Robert Randolph
and of course
Taj Mahal
Robert Cray

Some will be more expensive than others,
Mix and Match with what you can afford.

And don't forget to let Blueshound and Colleen, here in Houston at KPFT 90.1 , help you get the word out.

Thanx,

Hookman Brown
I would love to see the Tommy Castro Band on the bill next year!
Taj Mahal puts on an energetic show and will appeal to the acoustic blues fans. I've seen Robert Cray only once when he opened for BB King and he about put me to sleep.

All the names previously mentioned would be great.

A female act I'd like to see again would be Pat Wilder out of San Francisco. Add local talent Nicole Fournier to that list. Shawn Pittman from Austin is really coming on strong now. Other locals not mentioned are Wanda King with Texas Slim and Joey Love as well as Joe Jonas (the one from Oak Cliff, not Westlake!).
Oh yeah, me too.
