Since we seem to have quite a discussion going on in Beth's thread about modes, I thought I would just throw this out there to try and focus some of the discussion about blues and scales.

For a given blues song in G, you might have the following chords: G7 - C7 - D7

You have two options that I'm aware of:

1. G Pentatonic Minor - fits over all three, or

2. G Mixolydian over G7, C Mixolydian over C7 and D Mixolydian over D7.

There are variations on this of course. The whole note scale comes in handy sometimes when you want to get cute.

But I thought I would just throw this out there in case anyone has any other suggestions or recommendations.

Thanks,

Michael
