I've been playing keys professionally for 35 years or so, and consider myself a reasonably well-rounded musician. The first 15 years of my career were spent on the road with various show & dance bands covering everything from Englebert Humperdink to Conway Twitty to Tower of Power. The following 15 years found me mostly sidelined while raising my two sons, before an unexpected windfall provided the means to purchase some updated gear and hit the local scene for the first time.
I eventually stumbled onto a nice introduction to the local blues community a few years ago at David Holcombe's Pigeon Hole jams in Irving, and have very much enjoyed the sense of family and fellowship offered by area players and fans. These days, I'm playing with Jimmy Mac and The Bulldogs and helping to host the Friday night jam at The Cottage Lounge, playing a couple dates a month with Howard Starling and The Grooveyard Band, and continue to perform with the up-and-coming young bluesman, Chris Watson.
I'm also making several blues jams a month, and for all that the local "jam culture" may or may not be, I have to say that the more I get out, the more I genuinely enjoy seeing everyone and contributing what I can to the fellowship.

I know mine has.
@ Chuck, I like the fact that you're on the Featured list. You deserve it and you've earned it.
I hope you stay there for a long, long time.

I really like your style of Blues clothes.Reminds me of myself.
I often say the Blues are like " Show and Tell" .
The Tell is the music : Albums, CDs , singles, etc.
The Show is the live performances. I believe a musician MUST look like a musician.
The people coming to a gig are wanting to , not only, hear the music, but they want to SEE something also.
If a player looks like he just walked up off the street, then he doesn't make much of an impression, and when he walks back on the street, chances are he might be forgotten.
You want to leave an image in someone's mind , as well as a buzz in their ear.

Chuck, I want to thank you for your work on "Back Street Boogie" .
I'm using version 2 of it, and I'm posting it as an instrumental on my sites and pages, and sending it out to radio stations around the country.
I will try to keep you up on any air play we get with it.

One last thing :
I consider you one of the very best keyboardists I've ever had the pleasure to work with.
I believe every Blues player needs and deserves a nickname, and because of how Smooth and Silky your keys playing is, I've begun to refer to you as
Chuck " Creamy " Mayo. Cream for short.
I hope you don't mind.
Later,
Hookman Brown

That's bringing out the best in the music. Your organ work was sublime. Killer grooves.
