About me: How I spent my late twenties and my thirties:
Hello. I came to visit your planet back in 1997 to: 1) Meet Hash Brown, Sam Myers, Anson Funderburgh, Jim Suhler, and Mike Morgan 2) To learn more about the blues and how it should be played from real heavy duty people 3) Collect information about the original Fab-T Birds 4) Take my picture next to the SRV statue on Lake Travis 5) Make a large number of field recordings to document my visit 6) Search for any decent green chile I've enjoyed it. Hoping the mother ship returns before I run out of beer.
How I came to the blues is not uncommon or remarkable...it's the same thing that happens to a lot of kids. Heavy Metal leads back to Cream and before you know it you've got an Albert King album...then a Robert Johnson record (and of course by this point you've seen the movie "Crossroads"). Hendrix playing "Killing Floor" makes you wonder who Chester Burnett is so you get a Howling Wolf record and it knocks you back on your punk kid ass. Aerosmith & Zeppelin lead to the Yardbirds and before you know it you've got Muddy and Buddy and Elmore and the disease has progressed to the point that you are in and boy ARE YOU IN DEEP. Stay infected. Spread it around. Play music that is lowdown and dirty and people have to get a Teatnus shot after hearing it. Love it. Try to do it as well as you can cos it deserves you respect.... Peace and Grease, Rob

Thanks Rob-Am planning on being there at Strokers next Wed.-Doing a duel guitar thing with friend Chris Owen right now so I hope bringing a guitar will be enough for the jam(no amp avaliable). I have "always" enjoyed your picking bro.-you are a real talent- See you Wed. at Strokers if you are there. Thanks for welcoming me to the Roadhouse Site. peace
Was reading the list of your influences on your MySpace page... isn't it amazing how many separate elements combine to make us the musicans we are today? I decided, for the first time, to list my influences as a way of introduction to the Roadhouse site, and it took me all afternoon to dig back through my memories and (almost) all the musical elements which have tripped my trigger over time, and I was amazed at how long that list turned out to be.
All donations will go to help pay the Roadhouse bands at the Frisco Arts Festival. So the more you donate, the more we can pay. If you want to help, Click the Jar.
