A Little About "ROCKIN' ROBERT T."

Robert was born in Amarillo,Texas with music running through his veins. He started playing the trumpet at age 10 and laid it down for the guitar at age 15. He has been a "STRONG" guitarist/vocalist and song writer for over many years. GOOD PERFORMER!! He played the Panhandle and Austin,Texas areas through the 60's and 70's. With influences like Ft. Worth Great "Johnny Nitzinger" and Bloodrock in the early 70's, he began to form his unique style of Bluzrock guitar and vocals. He had to pause for a 2 year intermission in the U.S. Army of which he was drafted into Special Services and played over seas in Germany for our Armed Forces Clubs. After returning to The United States, he played in some of the Top local bands in Amarillo,Texas. His Bands "Salty Dog" and "Sidartha" were a couple of his favorites. He also performed with Lubbock, Texas Great "Vince Hopkins and The Street Theater". Along with many other top local Amarillo artists, he was fortunate enough to perform with his dear friend "Blues Boy Willie", Mr. William D. Mcfalls a great deal through the late 70's and early 80's. Prior to Blues Boys signing to Ichiban Recording Label in Atlanta Georgia in 1988, Blues Boy recommended Robert to the Late Great Gary "BB" Coleman Band.- Robert arrived in Denver Colorado to assume the role of second guitarist to BB Coleman as he headed on the road as the Band for the Late Great "Original Little Johnnie Taylor" (Part Time Love). He performed in some great venues including the Pavilion Auditorium in Chicago ILL. with Joe Simon, ZZ Hill, Patti LaSalle, Bobby Rush and Otis Clay just to name a few.
He arrived in Dallas in March of 1998 to find some of the finest and close knit Blues artists as he had met anywhere in the world. Hash Brown and the Browntones-Rob Donavan- Bighead Kenny Chavez- Chuck Mayo- Jimmy Mac McNeil and the Bulldogs - Michael Schaefer (not to mention his Texas Blues Roadhouse Site) and guitarist/song writer C.W. Owen are just a few of the talented artists that Robert has had the opportunity to jam with- That's why Robert calls "D" Town his home- Players here are all KINFOLK- Thanks to the Players who make the City "Blue"- Cause ya can just feel the vibe- "I'm gonna keep on rockin' and bluzin' that's me how bout' you"- Rockin' Robert T.

Hey Robert! Who knows it is a small world so it is quite possible! I am a youngun tho lol I'm familiar with Blues Boy Willie but never have met him before...can't say I've ever heard of an internet Amarillo Blues Scene but I'd LOVE to check that out! They kinda cut off the blues station here awhile back so the only doses of blues I know of come on High Plains Public Radio Friday nights and (if I'm not mistaken) Sunday nights on FM90 I believe? I actually stumbled upon this site by accident really...I was tryin' to see if just anyone can look up certain ppl on Twitter...I was lookin' for my bands' (well not MY band but u know lol) I'm currently a guitarist/vocalist for Da Boogie Men...appreciate the add!

Thanks for the welcome Robert. I have been back and forth to California. Just buried my best friend of 50 years yesterday. I have been out of town so to speak. I appreciate your welcome. This is my first experience in a blues community. When are the blues festivals around and about Dallas? I will be home tomorrow, and plan to sleep for 2 days. Take care.
