Anyone who missed the KNON 10th Annual BluesFest

...Missed 2 days of the cheapest KICKASS blues extravaganza of 2009! (so far) HOLY SMOKES! 3PM to 1AM on Saturday- That's 10 hours! For $10!!! Sunday was 3PM to 10PM and was almost as exausting. Saturday's show: Byron Hudson, 3Time Fool, Joel Foy, Bob Kirkpatrick, Jim Suhler and Jason Elmore, The Soul Review w/ Lou Hampton and Bobby Patterson, ZAC HARMON (emphasis is mine) and the Dallas Blues Diva's Revue with Blue Lisa, Andrea Dawson, Miss Marcy, Jessica Munn and Jackie Don Loe (honorary Diva)!!!
I enjoyed it all immensely, but the revelation of the weekend was Zac Harmon! If you get a chance do NOT miss this guy. Incredible energy!! I'm at a loss for words.
Sunday started with the Colton O'Neill Band followed by Aaron Burton, The Rhythm Addicts, Paul Byrd, Anson Funderburgh w/ Joe Jonas and finally Denny Freeman. Another day of excellent Blues music!
I'm hoping someone more articulate than myself will review the entire event. The BBQ alone taxes my meager wordsmithery!

Man, sounds like it was an incredible show. Wish I could have been there. I was in techno music hell all weekend at the Arlington Convention Center supporting my daughter in her extra-curricular activities. I would have much rather been listening to Zac Harman than techno versions of radio Disney tunes. Believe me.

And as for your writeup, I think you did a great job. I'm not sure if you're trying to butter up the judges (just kidding), but this is exactly what we need more of. I know we've all got our own stuff going on. But if we just go to one show now and then and tell people about it, we will create an amazing amount of buzz for the music. Even now, just reading this, I'm making up my mind to make it to the next one of these benefits. And I'm going to talk to KNON about making a donation on behalf of the Roadhouse and everyone here. You are right. They do an amazing job. Where else would you go to listen to this music in DFW on your way home from work?
