April 02, Bulldogs Special Guest - Rev. Mudrow Gates.... It's all his fault!

I'm really looking forward to tonight at the Cottage Lounge Jam. Years ago I went to my first blues jam in Denton. Muddy hosted the jam at a little club called Leons. I had been teaching myself guitar at home from CD's and books. I went to the Jam, got up and played. I was shaking and sweating. I couldn't play anything right. Stage Fright!

Muddy could have done like a lot of Jam hosts and shunned or ignored the new guy that really wasn't prepared to hang with the band. He didn't do that. He said, "come back next week and you can play with me and the band. Just play rhythm and don't worry, we won't put you on the spot.

I spent the next year going to Muddy's jams.in Denton. For the first few months, just playing backup, then i'd take a solo ride, finally tried to sing a song or two.

If it hadn't been for Muddy, I probably would not be playing with the Bulldogs, or anyone else for that matter.

So It's all Muddy's Fault!

We should have a lot of fun at he Cottage Tonight.
