There's A Blues Party Going On @ TurnTable.fm

Hey everybody,

The Texas Blues Roadhouse now has an official room on the site, TurnTable.fm (http://turntable.fm/texas_blues_roadhouse).

What is TurnTable.fm? Basically, it's a site that lets you play and listen to music with friends, as simple as that. For most folks, this will be no big deal. But to people like us who love Texas Blues, this is going to be something really cool where friends play their favorite tunes and just have a good ole time. If you come join us, you get to hear some of my favorite blues tunes and I get to hear some of yours. It's all about sharing your love for the blues with others and making friends along the way.

There is one known issue. If you have IE, it wants you to use Firefox as your browser. I'd recommend switching to Firefox anyways. I work in the business. And it would take me hours to give you all the reasons to switch. The short answer is that IE is a piece of crap. And all web developers have to hack their systems to get stuff to work in IE. And you don't want that. You want to use software that works right the first time. And everyone these days designs to Firefox by default. So you're life will be much easier if you switch. Even if you don't switch, install Firefox anyways just so you can participate on this site. And use IE when you visit any other site.

Anyways, hope to see some blues fans spinning their favorite blues tunes on the site. See you there.

Michael

Oh, and George Thorogood's manager stopped by and played some tracks off George's new album for us all. Album doesn't come out until next week. And autographed copy is on it's way to my mailbox. True story. Whatcha waiting for?

Just gotta say, I'm loving Turntable.fm and the Blues Room. Lots of knowledgable blues fans frequent the room. I've turned them on to Zac Harman and Ruff Kutt Blues Band, Nick Curran and a host of other local blues artists. Your band could be next. Get out there folks.

"Turntable.fm pays fees to Sound Exchange and publishers on every track played."

So people, what we need to do is educate every blues player about getting their stuff registered on Sound Exchange, starting with my CD, Mill Block Blues.

Still looking for folks who are passionate about promoting blues to new listeners to come join me online. I'm playing some Lowell Fulson right now.
